No-hunting Zone May Expand In Minden

After receivingĀ a petition, Minden Hills Council is considering expanding the ‘no hunting zone’.

It was signed by 15 people and was presented to Minden Hills Council, urging them to change the no-hunting zone near BobcaygeonĀ Road. The petition suggests that the people who bought a property on Bobcaygeon Road implied the property will be used for hunting. The property bordersĀ many residences with both children and pets, and the residents are concerned hunting would put people at risk.

One Council member said she has seen people’s properties riddled with bullet holes and the petition should be taken seriously. Council felt that before proceeding, the best course of action was to allow township staff to gather all the appropriateĀ information, and assess the severity of the risk to people’s safety.

Also mentioned in the petition was the idea that 104 acres in the area would be fenced in for hunting purposes.
