If you’re looking to change the name of a road, check with heritage groups.

The civic addressing By-law Might have a new revision to it. That revision includes the adage that if you want to change the name of the road, you should be checking with historical societies, heritage groups, and other organizations. Another organization you can check with is the municipality itself. The goal of this revision is to prevent the loss of heritage or significance of a road as time passes. If the By-law revision is approved, it will not be mandatory to do research into historical names, but it is strongly encouraged.
By-law 3328 will now be drafted for approval
