The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is closely monitoring the weather, and developing watershed conditions.
Area residents are warned there are increasingly high flows through water control structures, to keep water levels within target for this time of year.
This means that although these flows are being managed as much as possible, the impacts from unexpected melt and rainfall can make ice formation on lakes very unsafe.
The warm daytime temperatures over the next few days, will sustain or increase flows in rivers and streams, and cause lake levels to continue to rise with the possibility of flooding in low lying areas.
