Local MPP Laurie Scott says people are helping people in Haliburton county.
Ritchie Falls residents Bonnie and Greg Roe have created – Neighbours Helping Neighbours. Volunteers connecting to see who’s in need and who can help out with shopping and picking up food and other necessities. Local yoga instructor, Gail Holness, is reaching out to the community, delivering yoga classes online, and doing some fundraising for different organizations.
The local MPP says Minister Todd Smith announced 11 million dollars for funding to help deliver meals, medicines and other essentials to those in need across the province. The funding is meant to reach low income seniors, and people with disabilities and chronic medical conditions.
MPP Scott says Haliburton Highlands Health Services will help them distribute the money as they see fit, here in Haliburton County.
