There are 5 individuals in Haliburton County that are Current High Risk Contacts of COVID-19.
According to the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit a high risk contact is defined as an asymptomatic person that is known to have been in contact with a confirmed or probable case of COVID.
Dr. Norm Bottum says the Health Unit does more than work with the person that has the virus. He says “public health will determine contact tracing for this person. If they live with a family, that family will be under observation for a period of time as well and if there are any other close contacts”.
Haliburton County has had a total of 8 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, with one of those cases diagnosed early last week.
