Our health unit is bolstering enforcement on nicotine products.
The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit (HKPR) is launching an enforcement campaign in January to make sure provincial laws are followed.
Officials say there’s been a rise in retailers illegally selling nicotine products to underage customers, as well as selling illegal flavours and other improper products.
HKPR says its Tobacco Control Officers will check businesses, public spaces, schools, and workplaces to make sure proper signs are posted, and that retailers are advertising and selling responsibly.
