The urgent care clinic at the former Minden emergency department is now open.
The Kawartha North Family Health Team clinic takes patients by walk-in from noon to 6:00 p.m. on weekends.
Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS) held the first of four community town halls Thursday at the Minden Community Centre. Veronica Nelson, acting president and CEO of HHHS, spoke to residents to address the Minden site’s closure.
According to Nelson, consolidating staff and physicians to one site was the only way to keep an emergency department open. She reiterated that the Haliburton site was chosen because of its existing inpatient services.
