An off-duty firefighter who was kayaking was able to safely bring someone who had fallen into the water without a life jacket to shore.
That’s according to Haliburton Highlands OPP who says a call came in last Thursday (Jul 4) afternoon about someone who had fallen into the water at Minden Wild Water Preserve and was swept away by the current.
Officials say thee person was located by the firefighter, before being transported to a medical facility and treated for minor injuries.
Police remind all outdoor enthusiasts to be diligent about safety whether on land or on water – and to always wear a life jacket.
