Former Mayor of the Township of Minden Hills, Brent Devolin, has passed away.
Township officials say Devolin was “incredible community volunteer for 40+ years and then moved to the political arena to continue to make a difference in the community”.
First elected Reeve in 2014, he served the community until 2022.
Brent served two terms as Reeve / Mayor and as Warden for the County of Haliburton in 2017, retiring in 2022.
Officials share some of his achievements include the 2015 Pan-Am Games, the S.G. Nesbitt Memorial Arena and Fire Hall, along with establishing additional public housing facilities in the County.
“Brent loved his community of Minden Hills and dedicated his time to make a difference,” shared township officials. “We share our sympathies with Brent’s family and friends. Flags have been lowered at Township facilities.”
