More inspections and oversight from the government should be imposed on Long Term Care Homes.
MP Jamie Schmale says privately owned corporate-run homes don’t want to purposely make their clients sick or kill them off, because that is bad for business.
He feels more training and more government inspections are needed, not a government takeover.
He says “if you put long term care in the hands of government, the same thing that is happening with affordable housing will happen.
There is never enough money and there’s always more demand”. MP Schmale says “the rich will have their private care, but it will only give the middle class less choice and less facilities available”.
