The week of June 17 is Waste and Recycling Workers Week.
The waste and recycling management sector employs about 33,327 people in Ontario.
Officials say in Haliburton County, we have approximately 50 waste disposal site attendants, equipment operators, drivers, and managers, who are responsible for more than just customer service. They are also responsible for health and safety, site maintenance and operations, record keeping, and ensuring compliance with provincial regulations and local by-laws.
